ATP 650 Insulated Box

Safely transporting Class 6.2, Category B, biological and potentially hazardous substances — such as those required in the treatments of the influenza A virus, tuberculosis, or hepatitis — requires satisfying every level of compliance for every mode of transport. Meeting all the criteria for shipping certified UN 3373 substances, while making the exercise as cost-effective as possible, is where the Tempack ATP Insulated Box comes into its own.

Acting as the exterior protective packaging in the mandated triple-packaging guidelines, the ATP 650 is manufactured from extruded polystyrene to provide diagnostic substances with a rigid, closed-cell, water-resistant insulation that has great compressive strength. Despite being lightweight, the package will withstand the usual shocks and vibrations of transportation and manual or mechanical handling. This isothermal packaging solution for biological substances will ship its contents at the controlled refrigerated temperatures of +2º to +8ºC, or at the ambient temperatures of +15ºC and +22ºC.

As required under the ADR, RID, IMDG and IATA P650 packaging regulations, the standard version box exterior is printed with text highlighting UN3373 and compliance with P650 packaging instructions. While meeting all performance and compliance criteria, the Tempack ATP Insulated Box is an isothermal packaging solution for biological samples that has a collapsible function. It can be transported and stored in its flat format, allowing for savings in transport, storage and handling costs.

When the P650 isothermal box is combined with the relevant corresponding secondary packaging, such as the hermetic Diagnobag, it forms an extremely economical, basic, triple system for transporting biological samples. All ATP 650 isothermal boxes come in standard measurements but can be optionally customised to suit any specific requirements.
